ORANGEBURG, SC -
South Carolina State continued to build and prepare turning most of their attention to the installation of its offensive and defense schemes, along with devoting some time on special team during its Tuesday morning workout at Dawson Stadium.
In the two-hour workout session the fourth of 25 scheduled this fall, the Bulldog coaching staff and players seemed to show a lot of enthusiasm and energy during preseason team and individual workout drills.
"It was day two in shells and some of the players seemed to be little bit live," Pough said. "We have some pretty tough guys out there running around and it seems as though they are buying into what we are trying to do here. We will keep working at it and get these guys ready so they can go out and compete with some of these teams on our schedule."
Pough stated, "His biggest concern at this point was the player's ability to grasp all the information and get it to point where they can execute and go out and be successful."
"Depth is always a concern but right now we seem to be doing pretty well. We just have to keep working to make sure these players learn all the information they can."
The Bulldogs will hold their first practice in full gear Wednesday morning, beginning at 9:30 a.m.
The first of two-a-days, which will be staggered, begins Thursday (9:30 a.m.; 7:10 p.m.).
