Duo accused of punching, kicking robbery victim

NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Investigators have arrested two men accused of beating a man then robbing him at a gas station in North Charleston.

The North Charleston Police Department charged 27-year-old Thomas Washington and 29-year-old Corie Casey with strong armed robbery.

On Thursday at 3:15 a.m., police responded to the Kangaroo Express on 3689 Dorchester Rd. in reference to an assault. The victim said he was walking in the parking lot of the gas station when two men jumped out of a blue van and started beating him up.

According to the victim, the two suspects punched him in the face multiple times and kicked him while he was on the ground.

The victim told officers the suspects the took his wallet and two chains. Officers report they found the victim's jean shorts next to a gas pump.

Authorities say after the suspects attacked the victim, they took off in a van.

A police report states the suspects' vehicle was stopped on Azalea Drive and Kent Street. According to investigators, Casey had blood on his left finger and a cut on his right knuckle.

Police say Washington was found with blood on his shirt.
