Police: Man smashed Family Dollar front door, stole t-shirts, boom box

WEST ASHLEY, SC (WCSC) -

Police have arrested a man they say stole two packages of t-shirts and a CD boom box radio after smashing the front door at a Family Dollar in West Ashley last week.

Charleston police spokesman Charles Francis said officers arrested 46-year-old Antonio Illya Pinckney on Saturday and charged him with second-degree burglary and property crime enhancement.

Police say Pinckney used a large piece of concrete to shatter the front glass door to the Family Dollar at 2049 Savannah Highway around 12:45 a.m. last Thursday.  Investigators say Pinckney proceeded to steal the t-shirts and radio before fleeing.

Francis said the investigation was ongoing.

Pinkney is being held in the Charleston County Detention Center under $15,000 bond.
