Man sought for stealing $1,300 in cigarettes from James Island Kangaroo

RAW: Cigarette burglar enters, exits store

JAMES ISLAND, SC (WCSC) - The Charleston County Sheriff's Office has released surveillance video of a man they say stole about 30 cartons of cigarettes from a James Island gas station convenience store this week.

Major Jim Brady, sheriff's office spokesman, said the suspect walked into the Kangaroo at 906 Folly Road around 1:12 a.m. Monday, approached the counter, and then left with a cardboard box full of cigarette cartons worth about $1,300.

The suspect fled the store on foot and is described as a black male standing about 5'10" tall, weighing about 200 pounds, and wearing a white tank-top shirt and white pants.

Anyone knowing the identity and or whereabouts of the suspect is asked to contact the Charleston County Sheriff's Office at 843-202-1700 or Crime Stoppers at 843-554-1111.
