NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC/AP) - Hundreds of people have turned out for a free medical clinic at the North Charleston Convention Center.
There were long lines before dawn Friday and some people said they had slept inline overnight waiting to get the free care.
The South Carolina Dental Association is holding Dental Access Days at the convention center Friday and Saturday. Those attending can get free X-Rays, teeth cleaning, extractions and other dental work.
The chairman of the event, Geoff Steinkruger, says getting dental care goes a long way to improving one's quality of life.
Organizers expect dentists to treat about 2,000 patients.
There are also clinics for eye care and other types of medical care.
