CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) -

Two schools which share the same building on upper King Street were briefly locked down Tuesday morning while police searched for a suspect in the area, authorities say.

Charleston police spokesman Charles Francis said the Charleston Charter School for Math and Science and Lowcountry Tech, both located at 1002 King Street, were locked down from 9:28 a.m. to 10 a.m. after a suspect fled police.

Francis said officers were able to apprehend the suspect.  He was not able to provide more details at the time.
