HANAHAN, SC (WCSC) - The South Carolina Highway Patrol says a 13-year-old was at fault for an accident where a Charleston County sheriff's deputy cruiser hit a mini-bike in Hanahan on Tuesday.

SCHP officials say the teen, who was driving a mini-bike on Allison Avenue, failed to yield the right of way and was struck by the deputy's cruiser.

Troopers say the incident happened around 4:39 p.m. when the mini-bike pulled out onto the street from Melvin Drive and was struck by the deputy's patrol car.

The teen was taken to MUSC for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
