SC Teaching Fellows program accepting applications

ROCK HILL, S.C. (AP) - Applications are now being accepted for a program that can help high school seniors become teachers.

Starting Sunday, high school seniors can start submitting their applications for the South Carolina Teaching Fellows Program.

As many as 175 high school seniors are awarded fellowships each year. Fellows get up to $24,000 in funds while they complete a degree leading to teacher licensure and agree to teach in a South Carolina public school one year for every year he or she receives the fellowship.

Awards are made in early spring.
