Midlands man killed after ATV collides with car

LEXINGTON COUNTY, SC (WIS) - The driver of an all-terrain vehicle is dead after colliding with a car west of Batesburg-Leesville on Monday afternoon.

According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the incident happened on Secondary 75 around 4:15 p.m.

Troopers say a 2007 Saturn and Kubota ATV collided when the driver of the car tried to pass the all-terrain vehicle. As the car was making the pass, the driver of the ATV attempted a left turn and hit the car.

The ATV driver died at the scene.

One adult passenger in the car was injured. A passenger under the age of 17 was airlifted to an area hospital. The conditions of those injured have not been released.

The Highway Patrol continues to investigate.
