Report: Correctional officer arrested for providing contraband to inmates

GEORGETOWN COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - Investigators say a correctional officer has been arrested after providing contraband to inmates at the Georgetown County Detention Center.

The Georgetown County Sheriff's Office arrested Kelvenia Davis on Aug. 29 and charged her with furnishing prisoners with alcohol or drugs, furnishing prisoners with contraband and public official misconduct in office.

According to investigators, Davis was transporting contraband into the detention center and providing it to inmates.

Davis was given a $15,000 bond.
