Forward Tory Allan; Defenseman Tom Janosz Join Stingrays
NORTH CHARLESTON, SC -
The South Carolina Stingrays and Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Spencer Carbery announced today that the team has agreed to terms with rookie forward Tory Allan and first-year defenseman Tom Janosz. In keeping with club policy, details of the agreements were not disclosed.
Allan, 24, recorded 62 points (28 goals, 34 assists) in 84 games over three seasons at Norwich University including a career-high 31 points (10 goals, 21 assists) last season while skating alongside current Stingrays forward Kyle Thomas. Before moving into the NCAA ranks, the Davidson, Saskatchewan, native skated four seasons of junior hockey in the SJHL with the Humboldt Broncos totaling 49 goals and 50 assists for 99 points in 156 contests.
Janosz, 25, completed a four-year collegiate career at the University of Connecticut acquiring 22 points (five goals, 17 assists) in 127 games. Prior to dressing with the Huskies, the Elma, New York, product suited up for five seasons of junior hockey in the BCHL, USHL and OPJHL adding up 14 goals and 65 assists for 79 points in 249 games.
The Stingrays kick off their 21st season of hockey in the Lowcountry on Saturday, October 19 against the defending Kelly Cup Champion Reading Royals at 7:35 p.m. in Reading, Pennsylvania and celebrate Opening Night, Stingrays Alumni Game, Zooperstars! and 2013-14 schedule giveaway presented by Savage Law Firm at the North Charleston Coliseum on Saturday, October 26 against their in-state rivals, the Greenville Road Warriors, at 7:05 p.m.
