MONCKS CORNER, SC (WCSC) - Police say they have arrested one of two suspects believed to be responsible for a number of car break-ins in Moncks Corner earlier this week.
Moncks Corner Police Lieutenant Michael Roach said officers arrested Walter Lee Stephens late Wednesday and charged him with two counts of breaking and entering a motor vehicle.
Roach said 12 vehicles were broken into late Monday or early Tuesday on West Street, and credit cards and other miscellaneous items were stolen.
Investigators lifted prints and pinned two of the break-ins on Stephens, according to Roach. Stephens is being held in the Hill-Finklea Detention Center.
