JAMES ISLAND, SC (WCSC) -

A James Island man has died after police say he lost control of his motorcycle late Saturday night in front of James Island Charter High School.

The Charleston County Coroner's Office has identified the victim as 42-year-old Rodney Yarbrough, of James Island.

Charleston police say the wreck happened around 11:30 p.m.  on Fort Johnson Road.

Police said Yarbrough was driving his Harley Davidson when he passed a vehicle and left the road after re-entering the westbound lane on Fort Johnson Road.

Authorities say Yarbrough was unable to maintain control of the motorcycle, laid it down, and was ejected in the process.

Yarbrough was taken to MUSC and later died from his injuries on Sunday morning.
