COLLETON COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - The Colleton County Sheriff's Office is investigating after a man was seriously injured during a stabbing at a home outside Walterboro early Sunday.
Colleton County Fire and Rescue officials said they responded to reports of the stabbing at a home on Trevor Drive just before 3 a.m. They arrived to find a 32-year-old Walterboro man suffering from a stab wound to his back.
Authorities said the victim was lying near the street when they arrived.
The victim told responders he was having trouble breathing. He was quickly treated and taken to Colleton Medical Center before being airlifted to the trauma center at the Medical University of South Carolina.
Rescue officials said the victim suffered life-threatening injuries in the stabbing.
The sheriff's office has not released any information on the incident.
