LAKE MARY, FL (RNN) - Police say there is no evidence George Zimmerman had a gun during a domestic incident on Monday in which he was detained and questioned.

Estranged wife Shellie Zimmerman called 911 saying George Zimmerman punched her father and was threatening her and her father with a gun at a Lake Mary, FL, home.

The house reportedly belongs to Shellie Zimmerman's parents.

"He's in his car and he continuously has his hand on his gun and he's saying, 'Step closer.'  He's just threatening all of us with his firearm," Shellie Zimmerman told a 911 operator.

"We never had contact with a weapon. We never touched the weapon. We don't know that there's even a weapon here. None of that, none of that is accurate," said Lake Mary Police Spokesman Zachary Hudson.

Hudson said police approached George Zimmerman with guns drawn.

"When we came here, we downed him at gunpoint because we thought there was a gun involved," he told WESH.

Shellie Zimmerman has declined to press charges following the incident, according to the Associated Press.

George Zimmerman was detained but not arrested.

The public information officer for Lake Mary, FL, said all three were taken into investigative detention.

Zimmerman's attorney, Mark O'Mara, told CNN, "There was heightened emotion, and a disagreement took place."

O'Mara said Zimmerman was questioned near the home.

Shellie Zimmerman filed for divorce last week.

George Zimmerman has been pulled over twice for speeding – received a ticket once - since being acquitted for the death of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin in July.
