The South Carolina Highway Patrol says the driver of a motor coach died in an accident on Interstate 95 in Colleton County on Tuesday.
The Colleton County Coroner's Office says 70-year-old Alfred Kristensen of Jacksonville, Fla. died from injuries from the crash.
According to authorities, the incident happened near mile marker 62 at 12:16 p.m. when Kristensen lost control of a motor coach, went into the median, and struck some trees.
Authorities say Kristensen was wearing a seatbelt.
A 71-year-old female passenger was taken to Colleton Medical Center, but her condition is unknown.
The investigation is ongoing. The accident closed southbound lanes on I-95 for several hours.
