MT. PLEASANT, SC (WCSC) - Motorists in Mt. Pleasant will soon be banned from texting while driving.
In a 6-3 vote, Mt. Pleasant Town Council passed the final reading of an ordinance to amend the town's code to outlaw the practice of texting while driving.
Councilwoman Thomasena Stokes-Marshall says the rule will likely go into effect within 60 days, as the town must first place signs warning drivers of the change.
