CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) - A presentation at The Citadel and a concert featuring actor Gary Sinese will mark the upcoming Lt. Dan Weekend in Charleston.
During the Citadel dress parade on Friday, part of a floor joist from the World Trade Center will be presented to the military college.
More than 150 wounded veterans will be joined by representatives of the New York Fire Department, Charleston Fire Department and the Independence Fund for a series of weekend events.
The highlight is the Saturday night benefit concert by actor-musician Gary Sinise and his Lt. Dan Band at Johnson Hagood Stadium.
Sinise played the role of Lt. Dan in the 1994 film "Forrest Gump," filmed in part in South Carolina.
U.S. Sens. Lindsey Graham and Tim Scott will be on hand for the concert.
