(WGN/CNN) - Two lucky kittens will soon be up for adoption after an unplanned 1,600 mile trip from Chicago to Canada.

The stowaway kittens were found in a sealed container and railroad workers say it was likely days since they had been fed.

Despite the conditions, they were said to be in really good shape.

Chicago Joe and Boxcar Willemina, as they were named, were taken to the Edmonton Humane Society.

A spokesperson for the humane society says there is no way to trace the kittens' origin or their owners.
