CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - It's been a few years since Miss South Carolina raised some eyebrows around the nation while representing the Palmetto State in the Miss America pageant, but Mt. Pleasant native Brooke Mosteller managed to do just that on Sunday.
It seems each of the contestants were asked to think of a catchy way to introduce themselves and their states. Mosteller wasn't lacking for creativity when she said, "I’m from the state where 20 percent of our homes are mobile, because that’s how we roll."
The statement prompted many social media users to express a variety of emotions, ranging from admiration to embarrassment.
The 24-year-old woman, a Furman University grad, dropped by our studios last month and voiced her excitement. "I`m a little scared which is good because it`s a good motivator [...] And I'm also just really charged and ready to go up and represent my hometown, Mt. Pleasant and the state which I love."
