WEST ASHLEY, SC (WCSC) - A West Ashley man was arrested over the weekend after special investigators say they searched his home and found cocaine, cash and a handgun inside.

Charleston Police Department Public Information Officer Charles Francis said special investigators executed a search warrant at 35-year-old Kenly Lionel Ancrum's home at 1755 Opal Avenue on Saturday and found 15.2 grams of cocaine, $1,241 in cash, and a handgun.

Ancrum is charged with trafficking cocaine, possession of cocaine with the intent to distribute within close proximity of a school, possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Police also found Ancrum's two children, aged nine and four, inside the residence.  The children were turned over to their grandmother and the Department of Social Services was notified.
