CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - The Holy City's wealthiest resident continues to rise on the Forbes 400.
The widely-read financial magazine has released their top-400 list for the year, and Anita Zucker comes in at no. 209, 20 spots up from the last list.
Zucker, Chief Executive Officer of the Intertech Group, is now worth $2.6 billion, according to Forbes, and that's up from $2.1 billion last September. The Intertech Group makes specialty chemicals, high-tech fibers, and precision aircraft parts. The company was valued at $4 billion based on their sales in 2012.
The Charleston woman's husband, Jerry, founded the company in 1982. She took over after he died five years ago from a brain tumor. Zucker's son, Jonathan, is the president of the company.
