"Rachel's Challenge": A message of kindness and compassion comes to the Lowcountry

BERKELEY COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - "Rachel's Challenge" is a national organization based on the 17-year-old who was the first victim in the Columbine shooting.

Nasha Snipes led the presentation for College Park Middle students and parents. She knows the Scott family well and shared a little bit about Rachel's life. Snipes described her as a compassionate teenager who hoped to change lives through kindness.

One parent was overwhelmed by Rachel's story.

"She knew she was going to impact this world, although she may not have known exactly what her impact was going to be, and that she reached out to people who were not accepted by other people," says Anita Iliff, a mother of three.

According to the organization, 19,000,000 people worldwide have heard and accepted "Rachel's Challenge."
