NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - North Charleston police say Ashley Phosphate Road has been reopened following a collision between a train and a car.
Officers say the incident happened at South Rail Road around 8 a.m., when a motorist came to a stop on the tracks as the crossing arms lowered. Police said the train struck the back of the car, which caused it to spin around and strike the train again, damaging the front bumper.
Luckily, authorities say no one was hurt, but the motorist was ticketed for stopping on the tracks.
Ashley Phosphate Road was closed in both directions for about 45 minutes. It was reopened a little before 9 a.m.
