NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) - Officials in the Charleston area are taking a moment to remember victims of homicide.
The Charleston County Sheriff's Office of Victim Assistance is teaming up with the Crime Victims Center at the Medical University of South Carolina on Wednesday to mark the seventh annual National Day of Remembrance for Murder Victims.
Officials say more than 100 members of a support group for homicide survivors are expected to attend a ceremony in council chambers at the Lonnie Hamilton Public Services Building.
The event is open to the public.
