HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. (AP) - Authorities have identified a man whose body was found over the weekend in a Hilton Head Island marsh.
Beaufort County deputies said Wednesday the body belonged to Pascual Rubio Garcia of Hilton Head Island.
Authorities say the 35-year-old man was reported missing by relatives on Sept. 17. His family said they had last had contact with Garcia three days earlier.
Co-workers said Garcia had mentioned going to Ridgeland the afternoon of Sept. 14 to watch a boxing match. After he failed to show up to work several days later, relatives called police.
Garcia's vehicle still has not been found, and authorities have not said how he died. Investigators say they consider his death suspicious.
