HARLEYVILLE, SC (WCSC) - South Carolina Highway Patrol says the eastbound lanes of Interstate 26 are open again, after a jackknifed 18-wheeler prompted a shutdown earlier Thursday morning.
Troopers say the accident happened between mile markers 178 and 179, near Harleyville, around 5:30 a.m. It was reopened just after 7 a.m., but delays continued in the area.
The driver of the semi told him the accident was caused by a group of deer who jumped in front of his truck. The crash demolished the wire guardrail in the median.
Authorities have not said if anyone was injured. Continue checking Live5News.com for updates.
