On Friday, September 27, a Cleveland woman was in court to receive her sentence in the death of her granddaughter.

On August 27th, Angela Oneal, 41, pled guilty to involuntary manslaughter and endangering children after her 1-month-old granddaughter, Chloe Glanton, died as a result of Oneal rolling over onto the child.

When paramedics arrived at the South Euclid home, they found the victim unresponsive.

The infant's cause fo death was ruled to be Sudden Unexplained Infant Death with a secondary ruling of unsafe sleep practices.

Oneal was sentenced to three years with the option for early release.

The judge said that she wants Oneal's story to send a message.

Oneal said she was "still grieving" and " sorry".

The Cuyahoga Prosecutor pointed out that she has told different stories about what happened.

Reporter Ed Gallek has obtained figures on the number of sleep-related deaths in Cuyahoga County. Last year, there were 18, and 13 of them involved sharing a bed.

Almost none of these cases even get prosecuted, but in court, the prosecutor noted Oneal smelled of alcohol at the time of the incident and she told conflicting stories.
