A woman was shot and killed in Northern Greenville County on Sunday and deputies say her boyfriend is in custody.
Greenville County sheriff's deputies said Tracie Lynn Gilbert's father called 911 to report the shooting at the home he and his daughter share on Pleasant Retreat Road shortly before 3 p.m.
When investigators arrived, they found Gilbert shot in the head, according to Greenville County Coroner Parks Evans.
Deputy Drew Pinciaro said the victim's boyfriend was taken into custody at the scene.
Investigators said the case is considered domestic violence.
Investigators said it's unclear if the boyfriend went to the home intending to kill the victim.
The investigation is ongoing, deputies said.
Officials said the victim's boyfriend has not been formally charged, but he is in custody.
