CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - A popular downtown Charleston pizza spot that's been slingin' pies for over 20 years is closing its doors.
Andolini's Pizza, located at 82 Wentworth, will close its doors on Oct. 9, according to General Manager Matt Moore.
Moore said the local chain lost its lease for the downtown spot and received a notice of eviction last Friday. The pizza parlor will be replaced by an Alabama-based chain, Chicken Salad Chick.
We asked Moore if Andolini's was looking to relocate to another downtown storefront. He called the situation "fluid" and couldn't rule anything out.
Andolini's still has three other locations in the Lowcountry: in Mt. Pleasant on Coleman Boulevard; in North Charleston on Rivers Avenue, and in West Ashley on Savannah Highway.
They are locally-owned and began serving pizza in 1992.
