GEORGETOWN, S.C. (AP) - Officials in Georgetown say they will tear down the facades of some buildings burned in a fire last week.
City Administrator Chris Carter said a contractor will take down the facades on the row of buildings burned in the fire.
Seven buildings were destroyed in the Sept. 25 fire along the city's waterfront.
Two of the facades fell Sunday. Carter says those that remain are unstable.
The fire put 130 people out of work and displaced nearly 10 families who were living in apartments above the buildings.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
