Student deadline for TDAP vaccine approaching

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Parents, listen up! If your 7th grader has not yet received their TDAP vaccine, you're running out of time to get it before they start facing consequences at school in Charleston County.

Friday is the deadline to submit proof that Charleston County students have received their TDAP vaccine that protects against tetanus, diphtheria and whooping cough. If they fail to do this, they will be turned away from school until they present their South Carolina Certificate of Immunization.

Any day your child is forced to miss due to not being vaccinated will count as unexcused absences.

If you want to get your child vaccinated Friday, you can swing by one of the following locations:

  • Northwoods Public Health Clinic (2070 Northbrook Blvd. #A-20, North Charleston, SC 29406)
  • The Point (3574 Maybank Hwy., Johns Island, SC 29455)

Call 843-953-0090 to make an appointment.

There is a walk-in clinic open Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. That's at the North Area Public Health Clinic at 3963 Whipper Barony Lane in North Charleston.
