Men wanted for domestic violence top Most Wanted list

HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, so WMBF News is profiling two men the Horry County Sheriff's Office says are wanted for the crime.

South Carolina ranks second in the nation for the number of women murdered by men, and much of that begins behind closed doors, at home in domestic violence situations. That's why it's important to help get these suspects off the streets.

Police say on the morning of Sept. 3, 31-year-old Eldred Junior Soles came into the home he shared with a woman and started an argument. The woman says he hit her on the arm with a stick and when she began to call the police, he ran into the woods.

Soles is 5'8" tall, 185 pounds and his last known address is on Log Cabin Road in Longs.

Also wanted by the sheriff's office is 31-year-old Michael David Elsey.

Elsey's former girlfriend told WMBF News she's glad to be out of the violence situation that he was causing in the home because they have three children together.

According to the report she went to Horry County Police to report that Elsey slapped her after fighting all day, and that she lives in fear of him.

Elsey is 6' tall with blonde hair and blue eyes. His last known address is on Cordgrass Drive in Little River, but his ex believes he now lives in the Philadelphia area.

Both Michael Elsey and Eldred Soles are wanted for their second offense of criminal domestic violence.
