Official: Shutdown could affect Boeing deliveries

NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - According to a Boeing official, the government shutdown could impact the Boeing plant in North Charleston because of a reduction in the Federal Aviation Authority workforce.

Officials say because the FAA holds certification duties for some of its products the delivery of airplanes with new interior configurations could be delayed during the shutdown.

On Thursday Boeing announced its third quarter deliveries, including 23 Dreamliners, with a year-to-date total of 40.

According to officials, several of the airplanes were delivered in October.
