WALHALLA, SC (FOX Carolina) -

A man has been charged after a heat pump was stolen from a church in Seneca on Friday, according to Oconee County Sheriff Mike Crenshaw.

Crenshaw said deputies were called to Seneca Church of the Nazarene on Friday morning after the pastor discovered the church without power and the heat pump missing.

He said evidence at the scene led them to a house behind the church where they found the heat pump hidden under trash and a tarp.

Jason Lee Trammell, 28, was charged with grand larceny in connection with the theft, Crenshaw said.

Trammell was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center about 2:18 p.m. Friday.
