Bucs enter FCS Coaches Top 25 Poll

CHARLESTON, SC -

Forjust the second time in program history, Charleston Southern is nationallyranked. The 6-0 Bucs entered the FCS Coaches Poll Monday, coming in at No. 25in the country. 

Theonly previous national ranking in the 23-year history of CSU Football came inNovember 2006, when the Bucs checked in at No. 24 in the coaches' pollfollowing a 9-0 start to the season. 

CSUhas enjoyed a 6-0 start under first-year head coach Jamey Chadwell thanks to apowerful running game and an opportunistic defense that has consistentlydelivered key stops and turnovers. The Bucs begin the week ranked second nationallyin third-down defense, ninth in scoring defense, 12th in turnovermargin and 13th in rushing. 

Individually,junior running back Christian Reyes now stands 11th nationally with684 yards rushing following a 168-yard effort in Saturday's win over NorthGreenville. Redshirt senior defensive end Will Hunt registered two sacks in thevictory, and is now in a tie for 18th with five sacks for thecampaign. 

CSUreturns to action Saturday as it opens Big South Conference play at VMI.Kickoff at Foster Stadium in Lexington, Va. is set for 1:30 p.m.
