WEST ASHLEY, SC (WCSC) - Police say a 30-year-old woman is accused of running over her boyfriend with her car following an argument over housework.
The Charleston Police Department charged Alana Nakeyia Ford with criminal domestic violence.
On Tuesday afternoon, police responded to Norton Car Stereo on 1217 Sam Rittenberg Blvd. in reference to a man that had been hit by a car. When officers arrived they found the 29-year-old victim in an ambulance.
The victim told officers that his girlfriend, Ford, had hit him with a car.
According to the victim, the incident started when an argument began in Ford's car regarding "completing janitorial services in a timely manner."
The victim said when he got out of the car, Ford began to drive away. A police report states the victim then attempted to flag Ford down from the middle of the roadway.
According to police, Ford was 25 to 50 feet away from the victim, when she proceeded to hit the victim her car.
The victim told investigators said the force of the impact caused him to flip in the air and land on the ground. Authorities say the victim suffered several lacerations to his face, hands, feet, and road rash on his left shoulder.
A police report states Ford then stopped her car and attempted to apologize, and take the victim to the hospital.
The victim refused assistance from Ford and sought help from a nearby car stereo store.
