Deputies: Man charged in attempted St. George bank robbery

ST. GEORGE, SC (WCSC) - A 21-year-old man was arrested Wednesday afternoon shortly after entering a St. George bank and handing a teller a note that said to give him money or else he would kill them, according to an incident report.

Aaron Britt of Reevesville was arrested Wednesday and charged with entering a bank with intent to steal.

According to Dorchester County deputies, Britt attempted to rob the First Citizens Bank located at 129 North Avenue around 3:15 p.m.

Police say Britt handed a bank teller a note that instructed them to hand over money or else he would kill them. The suspect then picked up the note and left the bank.

St. George police later located the suspect, who matched a description provided by employees, on Sears Street, where he was detained.
