Baptist Hill High School parade traffic alert

HOLLYWOOD, SC (WCSC) - Officials with the Charleston County Sheriff's Office say on Friday starting at 3 p.m., traffic on Highway 162 will be rerouted due to the Baptist Hill High School homecoming parade in Hollywood.

Authorities say the high school's parade will begin at 4 p.m. and will start at the intersection of Highway 165 and Highway 162 and will travel down Highway 162 then ending at the high school.

Beginning at 3 p.m., all southbound traffic on Highway 162 will be rerouted left onto Highway 165 towards Toogoodoo Road and Northbound traffic on Hwy 162 will be rerouted left onto New Road to Highway 17 while the around the parade is active.

A sheriff's office report states that motorists planning to travel in the area should be aware of the detour route and expect pedestrian traffic in the area of the parade route.
