(CNN) – How about some bipartisanship with your latte?

Starbucks is asking customers to help pressure lawmakers in Washington, DC to end the partial government shutdown and solve the ongoing budget crisis.

Beginning on Friday, Starbucks is distributing a petition asking Congress and the White House to, "Reopen our government to serve the people," "Pay our debts on time to avoid another financial crisis," and "pass a bipartisan and comprehensive long-term budget deal by the end of the year."

Customers are encouraged to sign the petition online or print out a paper petition and drop it off at the nearest Starbucks.

Ads will also appear Friday in newspapers, such as the New York Times and the USA Today that can be torn out, signed and dropped off at any Starbucks location.
