Over two dozen people came together Sunday night to remember a Beaufort man who police say was killed after meeting with two men while trying to sell his truck on Craigslist.
A candlelight vigil was held on the beach near the Sullivan's Island Lighthouse at sunset to honor 25-year-old William "Alex" Apps.
Charleston County deputies say Apps was killed on October 3, and his body was found four days later in Mt. Pleasant.
Deputies have arrested 19-year-old Jquan Scott and 20-year-old Isaac Williams, and both have been charged with kidnapping and murder.
Organizers say App's life had touched many in the Lowcountry, and they wanted to come together to share their love and support.
"Alex might not be alive right now, but his life purpose did not end with him," said Chris Bible.
A funeral for Apps, who was a College of Charleston student, will be held this weekend.
