Third person arrested in connection with murder of Angelo Freeman

WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - Wilmington Police have arrested a third suspect in connection with the murder of Angelo Freeman.

Tre Quadrell Scott is charged with First Degree Murder, Robbery with Dangerous Weapon and Conspiracy to commit Robbery with Dangerous Weapon. He also faces burglary, kidnapping and arson charges.

Ramaj Walker and Nicholas Bannerman are also face charges in connection with the murder.

Freeman was found dead in his home on Lilac Court two weeks ago. Police said Angelo was killed when the three were stealing from Freeman. 

Walker is being charged with the following:

  • first degree murder
  • armed robbery
  • first degree burglary
  • attempted first degree arson
  • first degree kidnapping
  • conspiracy to commit armed robbery

Bannerman is being charged with:

  • first degree murder
  • armed robbery
  • first degree burglary
  • attempted first degree arson
  • first degree kidnapping
  • conspiracy to commit armed robbery

Arrest warrants say Bannerman leaked "natural gas into the dwelling with the oven element on and operating with a flammable paper towel on the burner."

According to the warrants, Bannerman also took marijuana and about $100 from the home.

Police found Scott Wednesday at a home at 1034 Thomas Jervay Loop. 

While at the home, police found three guns. As a result, two others are being charged with weapons violations.

Tyquarious Shaquan Gause was charged with carrying a concealed weapon, and Tamesha Davis was charged with possession of a stolen firearm. The gun was a Springfield .40 caliber stolen from New Hanover County.
