WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – Commissioner Jonathan Barfield was the biggest opponent to the amotion process to remove Brian Berger from the board, aside from Berger himself.

Barfield spoke out about the situation Wednesday night and said he was surprised by the nearly $68,000 price tag attached with the process.

The commissioner actual thought the whole thing would cost county leaders even more.

Now, the elected leader says it's time for the board of commissioners to move past the amotion process and mentor Berger as a leader.
