Chesterfield police arrest nine in prostitution sting

CHESTERFIELD, VA (WWBT) -

A prostitution sting nets nine arrests in Chesterfield and the only two women facing charges, don't even live in this area.

By posting ads on the internet, investigators were able to nab the nine people at a hotel along Midlothian Turnpike.

36-year-old Wai Yeung and 32-year-old Lisa Dibiagio have both been charged with prostitution. According to court records, Yeung is from New York City and Dibiagio from Orange, Virginia.

According to a local defense attorney, more and more women are visiting Richmond to offer adult services.

NBC12 reporter Jessica Jaglois spoke to a woman who says, she travels from Georgia to Richmond specifically to do erotic massages and says, demand here is high.

The woman "London" is from a Georgia suburb. She says, most of the women she knows who are also offering adult services aren't from Richmond, either.

"I'd say 90% of the women I know are from out of town," she said.

Scanning Henrico's arrest reports, those women recently charged with prostitution in just the past few days are all from out-of-state.

London says, the Richmond-area, especially Henrico, have a good reputation for good men.

"The gentlemen are very sweet, very nice, very respectful," she said. "They don't try anything that wasn't discussed."

Police operations continue to take down these prostitution rings daily but officers say it's a moving target with a high demand which makes it tougher to fight.
