ORANGEBURG COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - Orangeburg deputies have charged a second suspect in a 2012 shooting that left one person dead.

The Orangeburg County Sheriff's Office has charged Rodsheen Ayer with murder relating to a shooting on Maedrine Street in September 2012.

Officials say Ayer was already in custody after U.S. Marshals arrested him in New York for a parole violation in October 2012.

Ayer has been held in a New York prison since his arrest. He has since been transported to Orangeburg.

Terrance Shawn Johnson has already been arrested in connection with the shooting.

Ayer and Johnson allegedly planned to rob the residents of a house on Maedrine Street, according to deputies. Three victims were inside the home.

One of the victims died from his injuries. The second victim survived and the third was uninjured.

Ayer was also injured in the shooting. He was taken to an out-of-town hospital for treatment, but used a fake name when asked about his gunshot wound.

Ayer will be arraigned on Friday.
