CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) - Charleston community leaders broke ground Friday on a new park that will be located along the Ashley River near Northbridge.
Mayor Joe Riley and members of city council held a ground-breaking ceremony Friday morning for Northbridge Park. The park will be located at the foot of the North Bridge on Sam Rittenberg Boulevard.
The park will feature a pier gathering area complete with a floating canoe/kayak launch dock, pet station, bicycle racks, tables and security camera.
Construction on the new park will cost just over $1.5 million, and should be completed by Spring 2014.
