Moped driver hospitalized after crashing into school bus

NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - North Charleston police say a moped driver was hospitalized Friday morning after crashing into the back of school bus.

Deputy Chief Scott Deckard with NCPD says a school bus was picking up a student on Rivers Avenue at Fuller Street around 8:10 a.m. when the accident occurred.

Police say the moped crashed into the back of the bus, which was stopped and had flashers activated. No students were on the bus at the time.

Deckard says the driver of the moped was taken to MUSC for treatment, and was cited for following too closely. The bus driver was not injured.
