CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - The College of Charleston Observatory will be open to the public Friday night for some night time star-gazing.

The Observatory, located at 58 Coming Street, will be open from 7:30 to 9 p.m.

Astronomy Professor Laura Penny says Venus, the Moon, and possibly Uranus and Neptune will be visible.

Astronomers from the Department of Physics and Astronomy will help guests peer through four eight-inch telescopes and a 16-inch telescope. They will also be on hand to answer questions.

This event is free to the public.
