MCCLELLANVILLE, S.C. (AP) - Local state and federal agencies are holding an exposition on the South Carolina coast to promote fire safety.
The event is being held Saturday at the Palmetto Store in McClellanville in northern Charleston County from 11a.m. until 3 p.m.
Local and county agencies are participating as are the state Department of Natural Resources, the state Forestry Commission and the U.S. Forest Service.
The expo includes information about fire safety and the agencies' missions. Visitors will be able to see a medical evacuation helicopter. There also will be games and activities for children and a visit by Smokey Bear.
