Lowcountry teachers to sling Big Macs at McTeacher's Night

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) -

Teachers and principals from over a dozen schools throughout the Lowcountry will get behind the counter at McDonald's Tuesday night to raise money for their respective schools.

McTeacher's Night will be held at 12 McDonald's restaurants tonight from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. A percentage of sales during the event will go towards each location's partner school. 

School officials will head from the classroom to the restaurant, where they will be tasked with refilling drinks, frying up french fries, wiping tables, and taking orders from their own students!

The following McDonald's locations are participating in McTeacher's Night:

  • 3775 Maybank Highway, Johns Island supporting Mt. Zion Elementary
  • 2050 Savannah Highway, Charleston supporting Oakland Elementary
  • 1201 Sam Rittenberg Blvd., Charleston supporting Mary Ford Elementary
  • 3710 Rivers Ave., North Charleston supporting Edmund A. Burns Elementary
  • 5950 Rivers Ave., North Charleston supporting Malcolm C. Hursey Elementary
  • 375 N. Hwy. 52, Moncks Corner supporting Whitesville Elementary
  • 302 College Park Rd., Ladson supporting Sangaree Middle School
  • 8401 Dorchester Rd., North Charleston supporting Hundley Park Elementary
  • 1404 Sniders Ave., Walterboro supporting Hendersonville Elementary
  • 6005 W. Bilton Blvd., St. George supporting Dorchester Academy
  • 501 N. Main St., Summerville supporting Flowerton Elementary
  • 1591 Central Ave., Summerville supporting Fort Dorchester Elementary

    The South Carolina Department of Transportation is scheduled to update the public on Wando Bridge westbound repairs on Wednesday.
